Even though embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Moment

This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
